Imo state fathers Nigeria’s future leaders and faces of beauty. Not long after naming Anita Ukah, as The Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) 2018, a daughter of IMO State. The state, now has two pageant conquerors to be proud of, as it welcomes Prince Nelson Enwerem, the 23 year old, son of a traditional ruler, His Royal Highness Eze Sir. Leo Mike Enwerem of Umuebie Ugiri Mbano.
The 2018 Mr. Nigeria contest themed “The Ideal Man” took place recently at the Atrium of the prestigious Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island Lagos.
The winner Nelson, walked away with exciting prizes, and will represent the country at the Mr World contest in Manila, Philippines in January.
The red carpet event which was broadcasted live on the Silverbird Television dream network online, satellite and terrestrial saw 20 hot contestants who were drafted into the competition after a nationwide screening. These contestants while in camp received grooming in business mentorship, physical exercise, basic home management, cat walk, elocution among other etiquettes.
The foremost Nigerian male competition had distinguished Senator Florence Ita Giwa as the head of the panel of judges which included security expert Kunle Komolafe, foremost PR practitioner Kufre Ekanem, CEO/Editor-in-Chief Ono Bello and TV Personality Denrele Edun among others. The event also featured performances from Olu Maintain, Koffi, Twizzy, Fire Blazers and many more.
Top bespoke designers, Chris & Steeze Clothing, David Wej clothed the contestants for the fashion show segment of the event.
Nelson, is a graduate from the University of Calabar where he studied Pure Physics, He was also crowned winner of the Face of University Nigeria unisex pageant in 2016. His ascension to victory on Sunday Night, at the Silverbird Mr Ideal Man contest in Lagos, as the new Mr. Nigeria 2018 was a proud victory for his beloved family, state, and a country.
When asked: “what he would do with his platform during his reign as Mr. Nigeria,”
Nelson answered optimistically, with the intent to first, “bring back the Mr World title to Nigeria.”
The Title holder also won the award for the “Most Talented contestant”.
His visions garnered respect from judges and peers alike, landing him the number one spot amongst 20 contenders for Mr. Nigeria 2018.
Past Mr Nigeria winners include Bryan Okwara 2007, Kenneth Okolie 2010, Deji Bakare 2012 and Emmanuel Ikubese current title holder who emerged first runner-up at the 2014 Mister World contest; together they have made remarkable impact in Nollywood and other career endeavours.
