US First Lady, Melania Trump joined her husband, the President of The United States of America, Donald Trump to a three-day visit to London. Amidst many engagements and visitations, the President, and his wife, hosted the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles and wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla at the US Ambassador’s residence in Winfield House, Regent’s Park, London, United Kingdom.
FLOTUS’ state visit style hit headlines even before she touched down on British soil, thanks to a London landmark-clad Gucci dress. Since stepping off the plane at Stansted on Monday morning, the First Lady has worn a series of well thought out ensembles which have included diplomatic designer choices and royal-inspired touches.
Paying tribute to her host country, Melania wore several British brands, starting with a blouse from heritage fashion house Burberry featuring illustrations of military medals and the words ‘Society’. After that, Melania plumped for iconic European brands, including a couture dress by French fashion house Dior for the state banquet at Buckingham Palace and, controversially, Dolce & Gabbana to meet the Queen.
Through her sartorial choices Melania also gave a nod towards stylish young British royals the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex.
