Sabon Gari Market
A fire, which according to reports started around 12:30am on Saturday, has gutted the popular Sabon Gari market in Kano, destroying property worth millions of Naira.
The second of such incidence in less than five months, the fire reportedly destroyed several shops in the market including the footwear section.
Confirming the incidence, Director of the state Fire Service, Alhaji Mustapha Rulwan said the fire started at about 1am and had destroyed several shops in the market.
According to him, the fire started at the footwear section of the market.
“Our men are still trying to put out the fire as I am talking to you now we are in the market”, he said.
