Aisha Abu Bakr Draws Inspiration From “The Northern Star” In Resort ’19 Collection

Abuja-based fashion brand, Aisha Abu Bakr has presented its Resort 2019 collection, drawing inspiration from “the Northern Star”.

Aisha Abu Bakr describes the collection as one that views every woman as the “brightest star in their constellation,” to balance between modern trends and cultural inspiration.

In a lookbook shot by talented photographer Femi Alabede, Aisha Abu Bakr captures the technique of hand dye and batik which originated from western Nigeria and the Nsibidi language symbols which are originally from South Eastern Nigeria.

Key pieces from the collection include the geometric flare pants, the patterned maxi dresses, and a rainbow tulle gown.
