At this year’s Golden Globes Awards, the gowns made a political statement rather than a fashion statement as Hollywood’s leading ladies collectively went dark in solidarity with sexual harassment victims.
But there were still fashion statements made on the red carpet. Several actresses—including Deborra-lee Furness, Heidi Klum and Angelina Jolie—flocked to the event in Lady Bird looks, stunning in gowns adorned with avian appliqués and feather detailing.
Kelly Clarkson (in Christian Siriano), Sadie Sink (in Miu Miu), and Kendall Jenner (in Giambattista Valli) are among the stars clad in gowns worthy of the crown, showcasing romantic, princess-like ensembles.
And several leading ladies opted for menswear with a feminine twist—among them Claire Foy (in Stella McCartney), Alexis Bledel (in Oscar de la Renta), Ryan Michelle Bathe, and Alison Brie—proving that women wore the pants at the star-studded awards show this year.
Men were also speaking out at the Globes, with a number of performers—from Justin Timberlake, Nick Jonas (in Versace) and Ewan McGregor to Jude Law, Bob Odenkirk and Ricky Martin (in Armani)—all in head-to-toe black, having eschewed the traditional white tuxedo shirt.
