Saturday, 8th December 2018: Johnnie, Jazz & Whisky turned on the style as songstress, Asa, and afrobeat maestro, Femi Kuti, entranced the audience with a scintillating fusion of music and the great flavours of Johnnie Walker Black Label.
The event began with cameras clicking away at the ‘Johnnie Walker Lightbox’, with fine music serenading guests into the cocktail area where mixologists delighted with a delectable twist of whisky cocktails.
Guest mixologist, Berg, unraveled the mysteries of Johnnie Walker Black Label, showcasing ways that guests may more fully enjoy the smoky, creamy, tropical and fruity flavours of this unique blended whisky.
The music was out-of-this-world scintillating. Beginning with performances by Efezino, Yimika & Chike; the eureka moment came when award-winning Asa took the stage, performing renowned sweet melodies for 45 jaw dropping minutes in a lead up to the high energy afro-magical performance of Femi Kuti.
Femi Kuti’s act was full-on electrifying. The energy gained rocket strength when his dashing young son joined on stage, with the duo embarked on an 8-minute ‘take-your-breath’ saxophone rendition that sprung a ‘wowed’ audience into a prolonged ovation.
The JJW evening of glitz and glamour, style and flavours, was another night of triumph for Johnnie, Jazz & Whisky – a truly unforgettable experience.
