Have you ever asked a complete stranger with youthful glowing skin, the beauty products they apply, and rush off to buy whatever it is you have been told expecting that it will work wonders for you? Well, I wish I could tell you beautiful and soft skin has only to do with the products you use. There are other things you should know about your skin such as how to treat it and best products for your skin type that will ultimately result to a glowing one. Don’t expect a miracle over night, your habits and diet matters too. Also, the old-fashion regime of cleanse, tone and moisturize should not be taken lightly. Here are a few tips for you to keep in mind when in the process to achieving the perfect skin!
1. KNOW YOUR SKIN TYPE
Different skin types react and response differently to a particular product. Skin types vary and range from dry, oily and sensitive. To know your skin type it is wise to speak to a beauty expert at the counter, ask for product sample so you can try those first or carry out a patch test in order to avoid buying products that you are allergic to or better if you visit a dermatologist.
2. CHOOSE PRODUCT FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE
One beauty product will work differently on the different skin types so what might in essence be a great product for someone else might not give you the same results. An allergic reaction or irritation does not indicate that the cream is necessarily bad as long as it does not contain some harsh and harmful elements in it such as hydroquinone, mercury or steroids. It simply means that it is not good for your skin and it is best advised discontinue use.
3. STOP BAD HABBITS
Some people have naturally beautiful skin that they need to use very little or no products to keep in glowing, however you still have they still have to be mindful of their habits as this can have serious impact of what would have been a naturally beautiful skin. Hence, it is essential that you have a balanced diet, drink at least a litre of water everyday, stop smoking and reduce the amount of sun exposure to your skin. For some others, serious rehabilitation is required due to damages done to skin from excessive bleaching skin lightening creams popular with many Afro-Caribbean, African and Asian people
4. DON'T GIVE UP
You might need to sample two to three products, until you are certain on the one that works best for you and when you do try to keep to it as changing from one product to the other will only take longer for you to see the desired results.
