Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, Sam Smith, Iggy Azalea, Drake, Jay Z, Usher- 2015 Grammy Award Nominees

The first set of the 2015 Grammy Award nominations have been announced with the help of Pharrell and Ed Sheeran, who were both nominated.

The first four categories announced were Best Country AlbumBest Pop Vocal AlbumBest Urban Contemporary Album and Record Of The Year.

Sam Smith, Beyoncé and Pharrell Williams led the way with six nominations a piece, including citations for Album of the Year (Pharrell also produced Album of the Year nominees “Beyoncé” and Ed Sheeran’s “x”). But Smith was the day’s biggest story, earning Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist notices. Smith was pleased with the honours:

Iggy Azalea, Beck, Eric Church, engineer Tom Coyne, Drake, Gordon Goodwin, Jay Z, Miranda Lambert, Sia, Usher and Jack White earned four nominations each.
