Information has it that Federal College of Education (FCE) Kano has been bombed by suspected members of the deadly terrorist Islamic sect, Boko Haram.
Residents of Kabuga area, the host community of the institution said that sporadic gunshots were heard in the vicinity resulting in pandemonium as students and residents scampered to safety while shop owners hurriedly locked up their shops.
Many students have also been killed in the course of the sudden event. We also gathered that gunmen were shooting even after the bomb blast.
Armed security personnel were seen heading to the college.
Following the terrorists attack on the Federal College of Education, Kano, President Goodluck Jonathan Wednesday assured the people of the state of enhanced security.
He commiserated with citizens and residents of Kano State on the loss of lives sustained during the attack by terrorists on the Federal College of Education, Kano.
He equally sympathised and sent his best wishes for a speedy recovery to all those who suffered injuries in the dastardly attack. The President, in a statement issued by his spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati, commended officers and men of the Nigerian Police Force who took prompt action to confront the attackers and minimise resultant casualties.
