Nigerian Federal troops on Tuesday afternoon rescued 200 girls and 93 women from the Sambisa forest, the last stronghold of the Boko Haram in Borno State.
Nigeria’s Defence Ministry tweeted that “Troops captured and destroyed 3 terrorists camps including the notorious Tokumbere camp in the forest” during an operation.
“The freed persons are now being screened and profiled,” it tweeted.
It also confirmed that none of them are the Chibok school girls that were abducted over a year ago.
