“A passion project .”
God’s Wives is a documentary that sheds light on the plight of widows in Nigeria. The documentary was inspired after Bolanle began working with widows from the Self-Worth Empowerment centre . An NGO that provides group therapy , empowerment courses, and access to self-improvement. The documentary talks about the stories of two widows Chinwe Agulonu and Nkechi Ezeh. Gods Wives is a story of loss, survival and hope.
A Passion Project ❤❤❤❤. This feels like a dream. I remember two years ago telling Ebuka on Rubbing Minds that, I wanted to produce a documentary. Now its finally here. According to her instagram post, Bolanle had always had in the pipeline a desire to produce a documentary but needed one that was compelling enough. She was drawn to the many stories she heard while working at the empowerment centre and decided to share their stories. The documentary is produced, written and directed by Bolanle.
