President Buhari faced a fresh backlash on Wednesday after accusing the foreign press of unbalanced coverage of the #EndSARS unrest.
Reacting to reports released by British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and Cable News Network (CNN) on the anti-police brutality protests which rocked the nation in October, the President took to Twitter and wrote:
“It must be said that foreign press coverage of the ENDSARS violence was not balanced, especially from CNN and BBC. I was disgusted by the coverage, which did not give attention to the policemen that were killed, the stations that were burnt, and prisons that were opened.”
The statement however prompted reactions from social media users with many stating that the president was not as disgusted about the killings of unarmed Lekki Toll Gate protesters as he is about the reportage.
See few reactions below:

It is sad that General #Buhari announced his disgust of @CNN and @BBC’s coverage of #EndSARS. Sad, because this same man never expressed disgust or sadness for the many Nigerians killed by his soldiers at #LekkiMassacre. What a heartless fellow! What if the dead were your kids?

Imagine if Buhari allows himself to be interviewed by CNN and BBC, imagine the disgrace he'll put the whole continent through.

People's children died at the hands of the army. Army lied. It was proven in Lagos that they lied. Buhari is disgusted by CNN and BBC, he's not disgusted by the injustice, he is disgusted by the reportage of the injustice. A "reformed" democratic fraud.

Nigerian students are suffering from the 10month ASUU strike while the President is more concerned on CNN and BBC #EndSARS protest coverage. Does Nigeria deserve to be a Country sef?? Even if we qualified to, then surely we didn’t Deserve someone like Buhari to rule us.

Either Tolu or Femi Adesina or Garba Shehu is disgusted not Buhari.
Because Buhari is not even aware CNN and BBC did any coverage. https://t.co/4Lb0IapCY1

I'm also disgusted that the coverage of CNN and BBC did not give attention to those who imported the thugs that infiltrated the protesters, the SARS officials who killed/fleeced innocent civilians in the past, the identities of the soldiers who shot Lekki protesters.
I really am

Good Morning Nigerians, our President would rather address the CNN and BBC coverage of the #EndSARS protest, than talk about the insecurity in the North, the kidnap on the Highways and other important issues disturbing us. We don't have a President, just a Mannequin in Aso Rock.
