On Saturday, 17th November, Abuja came out to groove at the first ever Festival of Light held at the Harrow Park. Hosted by MTV’s Ehiz, the event which was definitely one to remember with beautiful people, food, light art, and brilliant performance, was packed with attendees and energy that was upbeat and literally filled with light for the entire evening.
As guests enjoyed the scenery of beautifully colored lights, Music stars took to the stage to thrill the audience. Boy band, Style-Plus sent nostalgic vibes with all the baby-making classics then Teni Apata aka “The Entertainer” got the crowd grooving when she came on to the stage with her hit single Askamaya.
But when the ‘Gbedu dey enter body‘, nobody could stop screaming; Burna Boy got on stage and the crowd was electric! He went through all his essentials from Soke to Heaven’s gates and of course, the crowd wouldn’t let him leave the stage without his hit song YE! The Afrofusion star even took to his Instagram to celebrate the success of the event captioning one of his photos “Abuja!!! You showed out!!!”
Along with the singing were fire breathers, circus performers and drummers who kept people entertained. Neon face painting, body art, LED and glow-in-the-dark accessories certainly got festival goers in the right mood. The crowd couldn’t stop singing YE and DJ Spaxx and DJ Nani made sure that was the case.
Some of Abuja’s very own artists shone through as well. Tempo kept everyone in suspense with his stellar performance as he flipped off the stage speakers, while Sowa and Brumeh got all the girls (and guys) singing about kit-kat’s. It was indeed a groovy experience.
