Catwalk Highlights: Day 1

Romance is definitely in the air as Lagos is carried away with key trends that are rooted in Africa yet worn all over the world. The first day had a common theme and it is ‘return to femininity’.

The atmosphere is vibrant and the clothes are absolutely gorgeous as the 20 designers that showcased collections on Friday 11 at the ARISE Magazine Fashion Week, Lagos 2011. Designers included Kiki Kamanu, Maki Oh, Bridget Awoskia and Okunoren twins all from Nigeria, Christie Brown from Ghana, Eki Orleans based in the UK were also among the collections that showcased. However, designers that were the crowd’s favourites included Korto Momolu from Liberia/US, Iteun Basi, Jewel by Lisa and Tiffany Amber from Nigeria.
