The appointment which was approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria will take effect on August 14, 2020, after the expiration of the tenure of the current Chairman, Mr Ernest Ebi, a statement from the bank’s official website noted.
This announcement was contained in a notice signed by the Company Secretary, Ezinwa Unuigboje, and sent to the Nigerian Stock Exchange. The board of directors and the management of the bank appreciated Ernest Ebi and Seni Adetu for their contributions to the progress of the bank during their tenures.
The appointment is in line with the bank’s high governance standards and best practices, and in compliance with internal succession policies; Mr Ebi will, over the next six weeks, ensure a successful transition and smooth handover to Chike-Obi.
Chike-Obi has over 40 years of experience in the financial services sector across reputable global investment banking and asset management firms. He also holds a First Class Honors Degree from the prestigious University of Lagos and an MBA from Stanford.
He is currently the Exec. Vice-Chairman of Alpha African Advisory but has a hat of other achievements under his belt, like being the Inaugural CEO of AMCON and Vice Founding President of Madison Advisors, a financial services advisory and consulting firm in New Jersey, where he specialised in hedge funds and private equity investment advice.
“We thank Mr Ernest Ebi for the outstanding success attained under his leadership and look forward to even more with our new Chairman. Welcome to Fidelity Bank sir!” a congratulatory statement on the bank’s social media accounts read.
