Confusion As Police Unseals Kogi House Of Assembly Complex



Yesterday, we reported that the National Assembly had taken over the Kogi State House of Assembly and the complex sealed off by the police. Read here if you missed.

According to the Vanguard, there was confusion in the state yesterday as policemen on the orders of the Inspector General of Police, reopened the State House of Assembly Complex for legislative business.

Though members of the legislature were not seen in the premises, the complex was open and many members of staff including the Clerk of the House were seen going about their duties. Also spotted were the Chief Press Secretary, CPS, to the factional Speaker, Umar Ali and the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Legislative and Assembly Affairs.

Ali speaking on the sealing and reopening of the complex reportedly said: “I can tell you authoritatively that the Assembly under the leadership of Rt. Hon Imam Umar will reconvene in this complex as soon as their recess is over.”
