Billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola has called out other wealthy Nigerians yet to fulfill their pledges to the COVID-19 relief fund.
Recall that immediately after the outbreak of Coronavirus in Nigeria, many public figures came out to publicly make donations towards the fight of the pandemic. Chairman, Globacom, Chief Michael Adenuga, has however redeemed his N1 billion pledge hours after Otedola made his social media posts.
Mike’s donation was confirmed in a letter by Sterling Bank, in a letter dated April 3, 2020, and addressed to Chief Adenuga. The account was set up at the Central Bank of Nigeria under the Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19.
A list of the Nigerians who have fullfilled their pledges has been released. Posting the list on his IG page, Otedola who last year made a whooping N5 billion donation to the Save The Children Fund, called on others who are yet to redeem their pledges to do so.
See the list of Nigerians who have and haven’t redeemed their pledge below.
Not yet redeemed! Let our word be our bond, and redeem pledges to the Coalition Against Covid-19. The Central Bank of Nigeria on Friday, April 3, listed a few donors yet to redeem their pledges. I encourage them to fast-track this intervention. Every life counts! @cacovidng pic.twitter.com/OxmeJLl0tH
