Dangote, Adenuga, Kalu, 7 Other Nigerians Make Forbes Africa’s 5O Richest List


Forbes recently released its Africa’s 50 Richest and 10 Nigerians made it to the list.

Aliko Dangote retained his number 1 spot for the fifth year in a row with a net worth of $16.7 billion. This is even after he lost about $5 billion as a result of a drop in the stock price at Dangote Cement and the depreciation of the naira in the past one year.

Other Nigerians on the list are Globacom chief, Mike Adenuga who was listed as number 7 with a net worth of $3.5 billion;  the only Nigerian woman on the list, Folorunsho Alakija is 13th richest with a net worth of $1.7 billion. DJ Cuppy’s daddy, Femi Otedola is 16th with a net worth of $1.6 billion, while Abdulsamad Rabiu made it to number 23 owing to his $1 billion net worth.

30th and 31st on the list are, Theophilus Danjuma with a net worth of $750 million and Tony Elumelu whose net worth is $700 million. At 37 is banking guru, Jim Ovia with a net worth of $550 million, while Mohammed Indimi came a close 39 with $500 million net worth. The last Nigerian on the list is former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu who was adjudged 49th richest owing to his networth of $330 million.
