As Davido met with the Nigerian Police Force over police reform, the popular singer is facing fall out from the planned meeting which he initially said was with Inspector General of Police on Monday.

Recall that the popstar and his team landed in Abuja over the weekend where they joined thousands of concerned Nigerians for the #EndSars protest. He was also active in helping to secure the release of some arrested protesters.

Later that day, he announced that he was going to have a meeting with the Inspector General of Police while calling for others to join him. However, Davido is now receiving major backlash after denying that he in the protest during a meeting with police spokesperson Frank Mba.

Although he added that he identified with the protesters because some of them are his fans, many social media users were displeased. “I didn’t protest, I did not protest,” Davido said obviously looking nervous in a Instagram live video broadcast, after Mba accused him of being one of the masterminds of the previous day protest.
