Delta State Government has reportedly suspended the head teacher of Okotie-Eboh Primary School in Sapele Local Government Area. The woman, Vero Igbigwe was suspended for allegedly collecting unauthorised fees including examination levies from the pupils.
The state Commissioner for Education, Mr. Chiebu Ebie stated on Monday that the Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa would not tolerate any form of extortion by state officials.
Reports going around also states that the Governor has instructed that renovations should start on the dilapidated buildings in the school.
This is coming after a viral video of one of the school’s student, Success Adebor, surfaced where she was protesting against the school’s decision to send her home over examination fee.
