The Nigeria Senate has urged the federal government to immortalise Nigerian health workers who died of Ebola as they fought the dreaded virus in Nigeria.
Lawmakers particularly urged the government to honour the late consultant doctor, Ameyo Adadevoh.
At its plenary Wednesday, the Senate President, David Mark, said “the nation will do well to honour Doctor Adedavoh Ameyo”.
Ayogu Eze, representing Enugu North constituency of Enugu State, supported the call saying “I support the call on the federal government to honour doctor Adadevoh Ameyo for her selfless acts”.
The Senate also commended President Goodluck Jonathan for the prompt response in the wake of the outbreak of the Ebola virus.
Lawmakers commended the steps taken by Lagos state and Federal Ministry of health to handle the deadly virus.
