Chief Raymond Dokpesi with EFCC officials
Following the re-arraignment of Chairman emeritus of DAAR Communications Plc, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi before an Abuja Federal High Court yesterday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has lined-up 15 witness to testify against him.
Facing a six-count charge alongside his firm, DARR Investments and Holdings Ltd, owners of AIT and Raypower FM, Dokpesi allegedly received around N2.1 billion from the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) for the People’s Democratic Party’s presidential media campaign.
The high chief who was earlier docked before the high court in December, 2015, was rearranged yesterday by the anti-graft agency and his case-file transferred to another trial judge.
Although no reason was given as for the transfer, Dokpesi pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him. The case was subsequently adjourned till March 2 for trial and the defendant was grated bail with two persons standing surety for him.
