#EndSARS: One Reportedly Killed, Another Injured As Police Attack Protesters In Ogbomosho

An unidentified man has been allegedly killed while another injured as police officers in Ogbomosho, Oyo state disrupted peaceful protesters, partaking in the #EndSARs movement that is sweeping over Nigeria.

The protesters were rallying in Ogbomosho to join the demand for the scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the police when the incident happened. In videos circulating on social media, protesters were met with stiff opposition from the police, who shot at them in a bid to disperse them.

Unconfirmed reports has it that two protesters were hit by bullets which left one student dead on the spot and the another struggling to stay alive. Despite protesters being civil, they have been met with force from police officers, who shot live bullets at them in places like Delta and Abuja.

 

The #ENDSARS protest has drawn international attention with mega celebrities, American public figures and the United Kingdom urging the Federal Government to ensure accountability within the police.

Over 82 cases of SARS brutality was recorded by Amnesty International from 2017 to 2020.
