A retired military officer, Colonel Hassan Stan-Labo, has questioned the Federal Government’s sincerity on disbanding the rogue police unit Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) which have been over-time accused of multiple crimes including extortion and unjust killings.
Labo speaking on ARISE NEWS’ The Morning Show condemned the shooting and killing of #EnSARS protesters, adding that by now he would have expected the president to order the police to shelve their weapons.
He also stated that although SARS have been dissolved, the redeployed officers should be made to undergo mandatory psychological evaluation.
Labo further addressed President Buhari’s speech, noting that he was unimpressed and would have expected him to address the whole nation, specifically about the ongoing protests.
The security consultant faulted the President’s directives, pointing out that while he was delivering his speech, protesters were been shot in the streets. “You can’t be seeking peace and be shooting protesters at the same time,” he said.
