P Square’s “Alingo” Knocks 2face Off The Top Slot On MTV Base Official Naija Top 10
Week three of the MTV Base Official Naija Top 10 sees dynamic duo P Square replacing 2Face at the top of the definitive new music chart.

This week, P-Square’s “Alingo” swapped places with 2Face’s “Ihe Neme” which previously spent two weeks at the top of the chart, as revealed on The Official Naija Top 10.  The latest edition of the weekly chart rundown premiered on the MTV Base block on NTA on Friday 22 March.

Banky W remained solidly at number three with “Yes/No,” while “Ghostmode” by Phyno featuring Olamide jumped two places to number four.  Ice Prince, Burna Boy, Goldie, Lynxxx and Olamide all slipped one place, while “Bad Guy P” by LOS showed steady progress from eighth to seventh position.

The Official Naija Chart is decided by an elite judging panel of Nigerian broadcasters, music specialists and tastemakers put together by MTV Base including DJ Jimmy Jatt, DJ Xclusive, DJ Humility, Big Time, DJ Case, Toolz, Onos Ariyo and Osagie Alonge.

Tune in to The Official Naija Chart, presented by MTV Base VJ Ehis (@SpecialSlim), and with special guest DJ Caise on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) on Tuesday 26 March at 22.00 WAT, to AIT on Tuesday 26 March at 21.30 WAT and STV: Thursday 28 March at 18.00 WAT.  Next week’s chart will be released on Friday 29 March on NTA at 23.30 WAT.

Keke Ogungbe, Audu Maikori, Ibinabo Fiberesima, Jimmy Jatt And Others For First-Ever Nigerian Entertainment Conference
Publishers of Nigerian Entertainment Today, NET Newspaper LTD have announced the inauguration of an annual umbrella conference for the Nigerian entertainment industry.

The conference, which will debut on Friday April 26, 2013, “is an invaluable initiative needed at this critical time in our industry, to steer the different sectors and associated elements, in the appropriate direction,” according to NET founder Ayeni Adekunle.

Nigerian Entertainment Conference, Ayeni says, will cover all the sectors associated with the Entertainment industry. These include Fashion, Music, Movies/Films, and Media. Others are Sports, Arts, IT, Comedy and Events.

This first of its kind conference is billed to hold at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Ayeni says it will feature sessions on Nollywood, Music, Media, and more, as well as the inaugural NET Honours to reward distinguished practitioners.
The theme of the conference is “building the industry of our dreams.”

Confirmed speakers include Kennis founder and CEO Keke Ogungbe, iconic writer and producer Amaka Igwe, GM Consumer Marketing MTN Nigeria Kola Oyeyemi, and Charterhouse Ghana founder Iyiola Ayoade while the likes of star actress Nse Ikpe-Etim, Headies founder Ayo Animashaun, filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, comedian Tee A, singer-songwriter Darey, entrepreneur Steve Babaeko, recording artiste Weird MC, the iconic DJ Jimmy JATT, National Mirror MD Steve Ayorinde, new media expert Elo Umeh, writer Tolu Ogunlesi, AGN president Ibinabo Fiberesima and Chocolate City president Audu Maikori will serve on different panels. More speakers and panelists will be announced.

Nollywood actress Nse Ipke-Etim  is next to take her groom to Akwa-Ibom in the fashion of 2Face and Annie Idibia.
 
Nse Ikpe-Etim and her hubby, Clifford Sule will be heading to her hometown for their traditional marriage which will hold on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at St. Stephen’s Primary School, Ikot Etobo, Nsit-Ubium LGA, Akwa Ibom.
Nse and Clifford has been on and off since she was a teenager but the couple finally cemented their relationship when they got engaged last year December and wedded during this year’s valentine.

Globacom Brings X-Factor To Nigeria – Burna Boy, Niyola, Seyi Shay Set For Industry Night Big Announcement
Globacom is set to sponsor the Nigerian version of the British music reality TV series X-Factor.

After recording a great success in the UK, US and other parts of the world, initiators of the reality show have created a Nigerian franchise which will be sponsored by Globacom alongside Rotimi Pedro’s Optima Media Group (OMG).

The Glo/OMG partnership with X-Factor will be announced this Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the weekly music industry networking event, Industry Nite, with artistes Burna Boy, Niyola, Seyi Shay, Phyno and UK-based Nigerian singer, L Marshal to grace the stage.
