How beautiful is this!
Bride-to-be Faramade Rosemary Adejumobi’s friends and her fiancé teamed up to throw her a surprise bridal shower that is like none we have ever seen.
Planning the party wasn’t easy at first, according to the event planner, TML events as they could not determine who she wanted at her shower without letting the cat out of the bag. But her fiancé, Wale was only too willing to help as he went about setting up a Whatsapp group with the very few contacts he was sure were her friends. Consequently, the group expanded with friends inviting friends and the ball was set rolling.
And so on Sunday, the 27th of March, Faramade was invited to the home of one of the groom’s uncles. When she got there and saw all the decorations and preparations going on, she was told it was for another bride and she didn’t read much into it as the wife of the house was a seasoned event planner.
She was then taken inside the house where she stayed until her friends started arriving decked out in Oleku, afro and wedges.
After a good number of them arrived, the unsuspecting bride-to-be was tricked out of the house and into the compound where she saw ladies whose backs were turned towards her and then all of a sudden they turned to face her and to her utmost surprise and delight her they were her friends and it was her shower!
She was then taken to change into a more suitable outfit for the afro-vintage themed party.
Everything about the shower – from the decorations, down to the food, drinks and games-was tailored to the old school theme!
Food served included, Eko (cold pap/agidi) and moinmoin, ofada rice, yam pottage, awin (local vit. C), garden eggs, kokoro, yoyo, shrimps, dundun (fried yam), zobo and lots more.
While the ladies played different traditional games like, ayo olopon, tinko, and ten-ten. There was also a gele tying competition and of course the old school dance.
Faramade & Wale will be walking down the aisle on the 2nd of April!
