Lady Gaga is a countess for V magazine’s ‘V99’ issue and not only does she rule, we are also treated to a nude picture of her and her fiancé, Taylor Kinney…butt naked with paint splattered all over them.
It gets even weirder (or hotter if you’re into that), the tarp they are posing on is actually a canvass they had sex on. She said: “I could not complete the covers of this issue without relinquishing one to an important cause. Taylor and I talk all the time about our unique existence on this earth. How can we use our creativity to heal people? Since we first met, Taylor’s been painting and drawing all over me. Years ago, when we were secretly living in San Diego and crashing on the floor of a beach shack, we never wore shoes. He told me he wanted to make love to me on a canvas. And though he made many murals on my body in the wee, small hours of our stoked, gypsy mornings with our friends, for whatever reason we never got around to it”.
Lady Gaga who doubles as guest editor for this particular issue pays homage to all of her style icons, including Hedi Slimane, Karl Lagerfeld, Issie Blow, and the late great Alexander McQueen, with a record-setting 16 cover images dedicated to her so-called “Fashion Guard.”
According to the singer turned actress and “Countess”, “This issue of V is about all of these people coming together to express a passion for art and fashion, to really ‘go there’ to make a great statement and to change things…I feel like we all share an appetite for living a life of passion and creativity…it’s like we all found our immortality through art and fashion…we share that deep spiritual place. These are people who have kept me and protected me over the years, because they’ve wanted me to survive…that’s part of the message of this issue: we have to carry each other through the decades and take care of one another and honor each other’s work…I am saying thank you to all these people for everything they’ve given to me…I want to make sure the world knows who they are…it’s a guard of people…I call them my Fashion Guard!”
