After a week-long hiatus, Enugu residents have organized their #EndSARS protest as they gathered early Tuesday morning and marched major streets in the city.
The protest came in the wake of the dissolution of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) with protesters voicing their agitations against police brutality while demanding that the Nigerian Police Force be reformed.
According to eye-witnesses, police officers were on ground to provide protection for the protesters. They were also graced by the presence of indigenous musicians such as Flavour, Phyno and Zoro.
This is the first march in Enugu since the campaign against police brutality and operations of FSARS commenced in Nigeria.
The group is expected to match the government house and state police command to register their complaints. Port Harcourt the capital of Rivers State and Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State are some of the new states where the protest is ongoing today.
