Some not-so-positive news has emerged from the Mavin Records camp, as its ‘first lady’, talented singer, Tiwa Savage was on Saturday, February 15th 2014 arrested and quizzed by officers of the Nigerian Police Force, Victoria Island Division for a while before being released.
Tiwa who had on the previous day, Friday, 15th February 2014 been unveiled as an ambassador for Forte Oil reportedly engaged a policeman who flagged her down for flouting traffic rules in front of Eko Hotels and Suites Victoria Island, on Saturday. She had allegedly refused to stop when initially asked to, before being caught-up with by the police officer due to the slow-moving traffic and then proceeded to alight from the vehicle she was riding in, confronted the policeman on duty and in the ensuing argument, angrily removed the cap of the policeman in a bid to get back at him.
The first African female PEPSI ambassador was reportedly whisked away to the Victoria Island Police Division, for daring to humiliate and assault the policeman before being released after a while.
According to The Punch Newspapers, there would be an official statement from Tiwa’s label, Mavin Records, today, Monday 17th February 2014.
