Forbes Africa’s has released its first-ever compilation of 50 Most Powerful Women in the continent and among them are ten Nigerians.
This Pan-African list which was published in the March 2020 issue of the magazine outlined those who have been leading ideas and industries while purposefully contributing to nation-building and positively impacting the lives around them.
These leading Nigerian women include executive vice chairman FAMFA oil Folorunsho Alakija, Chairman of First Bank of Nigeria Ibukun Awosika, author and public speaker Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, senior economic advisor Obiageli ‘Oby’ Ezekwesili, founder of AD consulting Jumoke Adenowo, makeup mogul Tara Fela-Durotoye, development economist Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, former treasure/vice president of World Bank Arunma Oteh, UN deputy secretary-general Amina J. Mohammed and media entrepreneur Uche Pedro.
Other notable personalities include the first female president of Liberia Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, South African actress Charlize Theron, Kenyan-Mexican actress Lupita Nyong’o, South African media personality Bonang Matheba and many more.
