Hollywood’s most-eligible bachelor is officially bachelor no more!
George Clooney married the human rights lawyer, Amal Alamuddin in Venice, Italy, in a private ceremony Saturday (September 27th, 2014), the actor’s representative said. A brief statement from Clooney’s rep, Stan Rosenfeld, was the only communication on the marriage, which has seen a lot of hype but few remarks from Clooney.
Clooney, 53, was joined by friends to celebrate his marriage to the 36-year-old Alamuddin, at Aman, a luxury hotel overlooking Venice’s Grand Canal. Families and close friends, including Matt Damon, John Krasinski and the Oscar winner’s producing partner, Grant Heslov were in attendance, People reports.
Clooney had mostly managed to keep their courtship out of the spotlight until he shared the news of their wedding date on Sept. 7.
The couple was married by close friend, Walter Veltroni, who is the former mayor of Rome.

The Guest List
Huge stars like Bono, Matt Damon, John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Bill Murray, Cindy Crawford, and even famed Vogue editor, Anna Wintour were spotted en route to the wedding, in water taxis flying the couple’s monogrammed flag.
Vows were exchanged at a 16th-century palazzo-turned-hotel called the Aman Canal Grande Venice. It’s the same place Alamuddin and her gal pals had a bachelorette party Friday night.
Pictures have yet to surface from inside the Aman, but Peoplereports a shipment of white bud roses and various white centerpieces arrived at the Aman ahead of the festivities. A classy, classic all-white wedding seems about right for Clooney and his bride.
On Saturday night, the bride and groom and the estimated 130 guests reportedly enjoyed drinks in a rear garden upon arrival. Then, they headed indoors for dinner in the main dining room, where the couple then exchanged vows informally ahead of a civil service at Venice’s town hall Monday.
The Clooney wedding guests ate well Saturday night. Reports say appetizers included polenta with wild mushrooms and prosciutto ham with figs and lots of champagne. The formal dinner was five courses and there was lobster, among other delicacies. Sounds terrible, right?
So far, pictures have yet to surface of the bride’s stunning gown. It’s rumored to be an Alexander McQueen creation.
We all know how great Clooney looks in a tux — he’s been wearing them on the red carpet for decades — but his Armani wedding tux was really something.
