One of the most striking trends to emerge recently is the use of gold to enhance features or to simply to create a bold metallic statement on eyes, lips and skin. From the dramatic gilded brows and lips to the subtle golden glaze, makeup artists have embraced the look. Off the catwalk women have been playing with metallic textures for ages unleashing their creativity via an array of sparkling shadows, glosses and powders. Here’s a guide through the gold rush that pushes the limits of the look on the beautiful super model Damaris Lewis.
Metalicized Lip Colours
If you don’t have gold leaf laying around, experimenting with the latest in metalicized lip colours can create just as enticing a look. Gold is timeless, the ancient Egyptians viewed it as the symbol of eternal life. From ancient Crete to the runways of today, gold has always been an essential part of fashion.
Pointed Bronze Manicure
A playful manicure is one of the simplest ways to take on the trend. For something as dynamic Damaris’ pointed bronze manicure above try a mirrored chrome colour.
Gold Is Beautiful On All Skin Tones
A hint of gold is beautiful on all skin tones, from dark mahogany to translucent pale. It is a universal highlighter. Rose gold on cheeks is particularly flattering.
You can do a quick 5 minute smokey eye using a brown pencil liner in the lash line and make up for ever gold aqua cream smudged all over the lid. Finish with a coat of black mascara.
Sheer Gold Highlights
Think beautiful and think of bronze and gold adding a sheer gold highlight over your foundation warms you up.
