Though Jackson died in 2009, a number of top producers including Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, and John McClain have worked with Epic Records' L.A. Reid on Xscape, a posthumous release by the King of Pop.
Xscape, which features 8 new tracks, will be available for pre-order starting tomorrow Tuesday, April 1. A deluxe edition will also include some of the songs in their original form.
The album was pieced together from “decades of material.” According to the press release, Reid and company “contemporized” the songs “while retaining Jackson's essence and integrity, creating the best music you've never heard.”
On May 13, the Estate of Michael Jackson will officially release Xscape.
While many Jackson fans are likely thrilled by the news, there are many who feel the album is a starkly exploitative act.
