George Turner, godson to former President Goodluck Johnathan and special adviser on youths in Niger Development Commission (NDDC) has been arrested for reportedly stealing over 2 billion Naira from the account of NDDC.
According to the Will NG, Turner was arrested on Tuesday after many failed attempts. Although there were no clues of any money recovered from his house.
However, operatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC said to have seen cheque books and financial statements indicating his alleged fleeing with multi millions.
He was arrested without notice in Port Harcourt by security personnel on Tuesday.
The Head of Media and Publicity in the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the arrest of Turner,
“Turner was arrested in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in connection with alleged possession of funds running into N2 billion, suspected to be funds siphoned from the NDDC while serving there as an Adviser,”
“A search conducted in his houses in Port Harcourt and Yenogoa, yielded useful documents.
“Turnah has made useful statements to the EFCC and will be arraigned as soon as investigations are concluded.”
