Government Facing Difficulty In Tracing The Passengers That Flew Into Lagos With Italian Coronavirus Patient
As global concern over Coronavirus (COVID-19) heightened on Monday with new cases confirmed in Egypt, Senegal and more countries, the Lagos State Government has revealed it‘s yet to trace the 158 passengers aboard the Turkish airliner that flew in the Italian who is Nigeria’s index case of the virus.
According to The Nation, Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi disclosed that some of those who boarded same flight with the Italian coronavirus patient, gave out false information.
It was also restated that while some of the passengers had travelled to other states in Nigeria, others had gone back to Europe. Abayomi further said that two more foreign nationals suspected to have been infected in Asia tested negative, The Nation reports.
He explained that 34 Nigerians the Italian had contact with in Lagos and Ogun States had been reached with some quarantined and others in close observation.
