You know how Cool FM OAP Freeze likes to weigh in on issues happening around? Well, the outspoken media personality this time chose to air his opinion on the ongoing drama involving iconic Congolese singer Koffi Olomide.
The 60-year-old soukus singer allegedly kicked on of his female dancers in the stomach in full view of fans at the Jomo Kenyatta airport in Kenya where he had been book to perform. Read here if you missed.
Sharing his thoughts on Olomide’s supposed 1-year jail term, Freeze seized the opportunity to campaign against violence against women and men.
“Although I sympathize with Koffi Olomide and his family as he faces the possibility of a year in prison for assaulting a dancer, I feel the need to draw attention to the consequences of violence towards women. It’s a pity that Koffi Olomide has become a scapegoat for a crime many men are guilty of, however, such a high profile case would help enlighten the male public on the negative aftermath of such an action, and possibly serve as a deterrent for future offenders.
Perpetrators of violence against men too should seize this opportunity to realize that the end result of violence is never pleasant. ~FRZ”
