Elie Kuame is a Belgium-born, Ivory Coast-raised, now Paris-based fashion designer and founder of ELIE KUAME COUTURE. Kuame, who is of Ivorian-Lebanese heritage, grew up with a deep respect for and fascination with the femininity, elegance and beauty of the women in his family—especially his mother. In 2006, this admiration for womanhood culminated in the launch of ELIE KUAME COUTURE, an ultra-feminine line of dresses and gowns that are equal parts fairy tale chic and fashion-forward, archi-structure couture. This aesthetic was beautifully executed in Kuame’s SS 16 HYPER FEMME collection with its impressive and intricate bead work, embroidery, and draping.
