It’s almost 2 pm in Lagos, but the mob attacks show no sign of slowing — if anything, they appear to be ratcheting up in intensity, with hoodlums in-disguise of protesters setting another police precinct on fire.
In circulating videos on social media, Layeni police station situated at Ifelodun Local Council Development area of the state is the latest to befall this recent anarchy as it was reportedly set on fire by suspected thugs on Tuesday.
Recall that a similar event occurred in Orile-Iganmu were hoodlums burnt down the district’s Police Station. According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 09.45 after an angry crowd invaded Layeni, burnt the DPO’s car and stole all the police uniforms.
One eyewitness added that the policemen at Ajeromi Ifelodun police station repelled a similar attack with gunshots. It was also learnt that Pako Police Station is under attack. Punch reports that least eight persons were injured from Layeni’s attack.
