Yesterday, we brought news that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had detained Mr. Moses Jibotoh, a former Aide-de-camp and Chief Personal Security Officer to President Goodluck Jonathan, missed that? Then click here to read!
Jitoboh has now come out to set the record straight. But speaking to THISDAY Newspapers today, he says he was not arrested by the EFCC, contrary to media reports.
Jibotoh said he spent only 30 minutes at the villa. He also said he recently changed his phone numbers which might have made it difficult for people to reach him, leading to the alarm being raised. The purported arrest of Jibotoh was already being interpreted as part of a “witch hunt” of the former president’s administration. Sambo Dasuki, Jonathan’s national security adviser, and Gordon Obua, who served as the CSO, are currently under investigation.
