2014 Lagos International Polo: Day 2- Unity, Valkyrie Win, Ibadan Teams Lose

Our daily reports on the on going 2014 Lagos International Polo Tournament continues with report from day 2!

On day 2, Lagos Valkyrie booked a place in the semi final of the Dansa Cup after a 6½-6 win over Ibadan Challenge in Day 2 of the 2014 Lagos PoloInternational Tournamentwhich has MTN and GT Bank as major sponsors.

Lagos Ashbert 98.1 posted a 6-3½ win over Lagos Kashton/Lintex while Lagos Shoreline also out-galloped Ironclad Taleveras 8-5 as the Open Cup commenced yesterday.

The topsy-turvy Dansa Cup match saw Gabriel Omale scored an own-goal while Challenge&#39s captain Kanyinsola Owoeye was grasping for breathe in the frantic final chukka. The defeat means Challenge will play no further part in the tournament having lost their first game 9-4½ on Wednesday.

In another Dansa Cup match played yesterday, Lagos Sao Polo keep alive their hope of qualification with a 6½-6 win over Kano Titans/Ibah, who now have to wait for the last round of matches today, to know their fate.
Kwame Issa&#39s deep-neck shot while a penalty by Ahmadu Umar proved crucial as Halifa Ibrahim almost rallied the Kano team to snatch victory scoring the last two goals of the encounter.
