See some excerpts from his interview in ThisDay Style:
For a while now, your career in music has taken a back seat. You are a Lecturer in the University of Benin. What inspired this transition?
On the contratry, there was no time I really took a back seat in music. I have released at least one album every year and I have more than 500 sings in my repertoire in over 50 years of recording. Being a ful time Lecturer in the University of Benin did not slow me down. Instead, it accelerated my performance. The period I served as the pioneer Hon. Commisioner for Arts, Culture, and Tourism and member of Edo State Executive Council was the only time I didn’t perform live in public.Sir Victor Uwaifo
Do you intend doing any collaboration with this generation?
I’ve already done a collaboration with 2Face on LessePasse, and it should be in the market from now on his new album, The Ascension.Sir Victor Uwaifo
What is behind the youthful and bubbly personality, which bellies your age?
My lifestyle. I do not drink and I do not smoke. I’m a body builder and I’ve been doing my exercises regularly over the past 60 years till date. I apply moderation in everything I do. I have a private family chapel in my house. I’m a Catholic and a communicant.Sir Victor Uwaifo
