Mania Magazine “Power Women” May Edition With Biola Alabi On Cover Plus Evelyn Oputu, Folake Solanke & Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala & Deola Sagoe

The May issue of Mania magazine is buzzing with powerful and accomplished women in various sectors of the Nigerian economy.

On the front cover is M-Net Africa’s managing Director Biola Alabi looking radiant in a very chic Roland Mouret black dress. Alabi is an international business expert, she joined M-Net just over three years ago where she’s led the company’s initiatives to increase the quality and quantity of African programming available to DStv audiences. She’s been at the forefront in the expansion of the AfricaMagic channels, the hosting of a glittering Face of Africa Finale Live in Lagos and three successful editions of the popular Big Brother Africa reality series. In 2010, she served as a member of the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council on the Future of Entertainment. She was recently honoured along side 192 young leaders from 59 countries for their outstanding leadership at the World Economic Forum’s list of Young Global Leaders (YGL) for 2012.

Elsewhere in the magazine another woman of substance, Evelyn NdaliOputu, Managing Director, Bank of Industry, she is one of the women achievers in this country who have broken the glass ceiling and tread the terrain reserved for men. Though glamorous, but beneath the beauty is a lady of significant financial muscles, humane and forthright.She is spotless, elegant, effortlessly graceful and combines brain with beauty. She has been at the helms of the affairs of BOI in the last three years and still waxing strong. Oputu's physical look is as intimidating as her academic and career pedigree.

Also, honoured in this edition is 80 year old Chief Folake Solanke - the First female Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has been awarded the Outstanding International Women Lawyer Award, 2012 by the International Bar Association.

“Economics of Power” features Ngozi Okonjo Iwaela – a woman that was recently in the top two position for the World Bank presidency, though she lost to America’s Jim Yong Kim, we know she possesses all the qualities for the job and is doing a lot for the Nigerian economy.


Fashion and beauty is also not left out totally in this edition as we see features of renowned fashion designer Deola Sagoe, beauty expert Tara Fela-Durotoyeand models Ojy and Oluchi.
