Across the world, March 8 is celebrated annually as the international Women’s Day. It is a day set aside to recognise and applaud women on account of their achievements in various human endeavours. Last week, the day was marked in the House of Representatives through a motion of urgent public importance condemning all forms of discriminatory practices against women.
The International Women’s Society (IWS) also celebrated the day along its 55th anniversary, investiture of members coupled with a fundraising ceremony where top bright women gathered together to recognise and applaud their various efforts in the area of women development in different aspects of the society.
