Jega As INEC Chairman After Five Years, Hands Over To Wali


Professor Attahiru Jega has retired as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after five years in the saddle where he supervised two general elections – 2011 and 2015.

Jega formally bowed out day and handed over to new Acting Chairman of INEC,

Ambassador Ahmed Wali, who is a National Commissioner at the commission.

Wali, who is also a Professor of Political Science like Jega, hails from Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
