Embattled former National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) has revealed that he handed over to former President Goodluck Jonathan’s Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs, Waripamowei Dudafa and the Aide-de-Camp the N10bn given to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, nomination convention delegates, the Nation reports.
According to reports by THEWILL, Dasuki stressed that he had nothing to do with the cash aside from its collection, the former NSA claimed that the money was given out by the two aides, on the directive of Dr. Jonathan.
Though no slush funds is currently said to have been traced to Dasuki’s personal accounts, he protested that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had subjected him to “media trial”, in such a manner that might jeopardise his defence.
Expressing regrets that he was being vilified by the EFCC despite acting on the instructions and approval of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, he denied having any foreign account, stressing that his local accounts are in Skye bank Plc, GTB and Standard Chartered Bank.
Dasuki’s Statement of Witness/Accused Person is reported to have been filed in the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, ahead of his arraignment today (Monday) or Tuesday.
