Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai has tested positive for the deadly novel pandemic, Coronavirus.
“Earlier this week, I submitted a sample for the Covid-19 test,” El-Rufai said in a video posted on Twitter on Saturday. “The result came in this evening, and I regret to say that it is positive.”
The governor said he is already in self-isolation as required by the case management guidelines of the NCDC for someone that is not showing symptoms. He said his deputy Dr Hadiza Balarabe will continue to handle the control of the spread of Coronavirus in the state.
El-Rufai is the second Nigerian governor to test positive for COVID-19 after Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State on 24th of March tested positive for the virus.
