Yesterday, Virgil Abloh who was hired in March as the new artistic director of menswear at Louis Vuittondebuted his first collection for the fashion house in Paris.

The Ghanian-American and Off-White founder is the first Black artistic director at Vuitton, so this marked a historic collection. Kanye West, who sat front row with his wife, Kim Kardashian West, and alongside Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott, was incredibly moved by the moment.

So moved that when Abloh took his final walk down the runway, Kayne embraced him, buried his head in his neck, and sobbed audibly. Artist Takashi Murakami, who was sitting on Kayne’s other side, documented the encounter on Instagram; Abloh wipes tears away, too.

Abloh is also the longtime creative director, not just of his Yeezy line, but of his brand as a whole (videos, album covers) etc. It’s a historic and emo moment for the two artists and longtime friends.
