Wizkid, whose real name is 'Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun' started his career at the age of 11 under the name – Lil’ Prince. He was born on the 16th of July 1989. Wizkid recorded his first album at OJB Jezreel studios in Surulere which he sold at the church he attended to members and families.
In 2006, Lil’ Prince rebranded as Wizkid and started frequenting OJB Jezreel Studios. He continued to develop as a singer and songwriter by working under some of Nigeria’s biggest Musical names such as OJB Jezreel, Naeto C, Ikechukwu and many others.
In 2009, Record label exec and R&B artiste Banky W took note of his talent and signed him on to his label as the 2nd artiste on Empire Mates Entertainment. Wizkid went on to feature on prominent Nigerian artistes’ tracks including M.I’s “Fast Money, Fast Cars,” Kel’s “Turn by Turn”and also on Banky’s The W Experience” album.
Wizkid broke fully into the industry in 2010 after releasing the smash hit singles 'Holla at Your Boy,' 'Tease Me,' and 'Don’t Dull.' He released his debut album 'Superstar' in 2011, and performed his sold out concert of the same name in June.
In 2012, Wizkid won BET’s “Best International Act: Africa Award” and performed alongside Banky W and other new members Of EME including Niyola, Shaydee and DJ Xclusive at the EME Concert. He was publicly recognized by Chris Brown and Wale as their favourite African artiste.

2013 saw the birth of Starboy Entertainment after a controversial disagreement with his boss Banky W which was resolved. Wizkid continues to run Starboy Entertainment while still signed to EME.
