According to multiple reports, the Boko Haram militants seem to be having a field day, as eight more girls have allegedly been kidnapped in Maiduguri, Borno State by gunmen suspected to be members of the sect.
According to the reports, the eight girls aged 12 to 15 were kidnapped during an overnight raid yesterday, Monday, May 5, 2014 at Waranbe village in Gwoza – 130 kilometers from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital – during which they also sacked police and army checkpoints in Gamboru Ngala and Shanni near the Nigerian/Camerounian border.
“They were many, and all of them carried guns. They came in two vehicles painted in army color. They started shooting in our village,” said Lazarus Musa, a resident of Warabe, where the reported attack happened allegedly happened.
