Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has ordered the suspension of Mr. Abdulmumuni Danga, Commissioner for Water Resources in the state over the reports that he assaulted and raped a lady because of an advisory Facebook post.

The lady, identified as Elizabeth Oyeniyi, was reported to have been kidnapped and coerced into making a public apology after she told the commissioner on Facebook to assist his sister and family financially. Elizabeth also alleged that the commissioner forcefully had sex with her after a brutal beating.

The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo, said in a statement on Thursday that Bello was shocked on hearing the news and subsequently ordered a full-scale investigation into the matter.
